Berry Picking

We went berry picking yesterday with Aunt Fell and cousins.  Busy Bee stayed behind with her other Aunt who lives in town.  Both Big J and Purple Girl were a big help.  Little J came along too.  He wasn't so excited about the picking, but thankfully the weather was not too warm, so he could rest in the carrier on mom.

Here is the crew who went picking:

Purple Girl did a really good job picking and even had self-control
to not eat too many berries before we paid for them.

Big J had a lot of fun.

Both kids made the comment that "this was the best day ever!!"

We enjoyed eating the berries when we got home (both blueberries and raspberries).
Busy Bee was thankful and greatly enjoyed the treat.

Little J was so happy to be home and out of the wind, heat and car seat!

New Swing Set in the Making - Complete

Daddy completed the kids swing set last night.
He started building on Saturday and had it complete by Tuesday night.  What an amazing guy -
we are so thankful for him and all the things he does for us!

The kids LOVE the swings.

Here is a full view picture.

We are so thankful to GOD for giving dad the strength to build and the resources to make it.
Once again, we are more than blessed!

New Swing Set in Making Continues

Daddy sure has been working hard on the kids new swing set.
The following evening he finished putting up the rails:

Then he started working on the A-Frame for the swings.  He had helpers:

Once Big Brother finished drilling, Purple Girl knew she could do it too.

Busy Bee was already in bed, otherwise you could be sure she would have wanted her turn too.

Mom and Dad then carried the A-frame to the backyard and Dad put it up.

The only thing left is to hook the swings up.

New Swing Set in the Making

Daddy is building the kids a new swing set.  Daddy didn't want he swing set in our back yard on the grass for two reasons (1 - didn't want it to kill the grass and 2 - our yard is not huge, so we didn't want to take up the space with it).  So, Daddy came up with a brilliant idea - he is building the kids a new swing set attached to our deck.  He started this weekend and accomplished A LOT!

First step:  Remove the sandbox and rocks and put new flooring down - rubber mulch.

Second step:  Build the platform and put up the steps.

Third step, put up the slide and railings.

As of Sunday evening, Daddy only had left to finish the railings and put up the swings
(which will go out from the deck into the grass with an A-Frame).

The kids are very excited and so thankful to their daddy for building this for them.
Big J helped some too!

New Climber and Cousins Over

I have been wanting to get a play set to put in the basement for the winter.  I found this one on craigslist.  The kids are enjoying it outside now, but it will move into the basement come winter.

Uncle and Aunt have moved into a new home.
While they were moving, a few cousins came over to play.  We had a house full of girls.

They played outside together.

One sweet little girl enjoyed pushing her baby cousin in the swing.

They ate a snack together.

And they watched a princess movie together.

Happy 4th!

We were blessed to celebrate the 4th with friends.
They had a zip line.  Big J enjoyed it again this year.

Purple Girl wanted to - but once she started down, down came the tears.

The kids enjoyed swinging with their daddy.

And then sparklers.

Thanks friends for hosting.  We had a wonderful time!

Little J - Three Months Old

Our Little Guy is now three months old.  He is such a sweetie and such a blessing to our family.

What is new this month?
Well, he got to take two trips out of state, one to MN and one NE.
He is a wonderful traveler.

He has found his hands.  He likes to look at them:

And he LOVES to chew on them:

He also is started to drool some:

(Not sure if you can see the wet chin in the picture above)

He still gives us plenty of smiles every day:

And he still is the cutest little guy around.

Thank you Lord, for another wonderful month with Little J.
Children truly are a blessing from the Lord.
