Happy 4th

We spent the 4th morning at home.

The girls helped me make our flag jello.

Good Job Ladies!

Then we had a carnival in the front yard.

Since Puppy J had daddy's help, he

finished first.  It was a little challenging 

for the little boys, but this guy below

would not give up until

he made his cup make it all the way across the

rope on his own.

Then we attempted a water balloon toss by 

placing a kitchen colander on top

of dad's head. Well - the excitement was high

at the thought of the water balloons busting on daddy's head-

but unfortunately this did not work.  The kids

made the shots, but the balloons did not break.

So we ended up just enjoying a water balloon fight.

It was a fun 4th and of course the kids

loved all the treats they received for prizes

for participating in the carnival.

House Divided

One girl is very and I do mean VERY loyal to her daddy's team (and mine as well) - University of Michigan.  Another girl is quite like her daddy and enjoys being the opposite of everyone else (hence why her daddy became a Michigan fan growing up in an Iowa fan family).

I may be a little bias, but I think this guy is quite adorable!

In Love with a Bug

This guy found a bug at the park and was so excited to have it as a pet.

It is a stag beetle. 

Any one want to pet it???

End of School Year

This happened a little later than we planned, 

but the kids were finally able to share their school

year work with Grandma and a dear friend.

This lady can be so much help with her younger brother.

She was enjoying playing with him at the park.

Trip to Nebraska - Down by the River

One of the evenings we went and waded in the river

 and walked on the sand bar.  

Another evening we went down by the river, enjoyed the big 

swing, made a fire and enjoyed roasted marshmallows.

Fun climbing on logs.

It was a nice evening.
