Fun with Daddy

Nine Year Old

I try to take pictures of the kids on their

birthdays.  This guy is getting older I can tell, 

as he kind of gave me that "do I have to mom?"

look when I asked him to let me take a few pictures.

But, since he loves his mom, he agreed to them.

So here is our NINE year old!

We got him a Ripstik for his birthday.

I can't believe how good he has gotten at it

in just a few days.

Love this kid so much!!!

Outside Fun

The kids found a pile of dirt to play in!

Reading to Little Brother

Purple Girl loves to take

care of her little brother.

I caught her reading to 

him.

After a little bit, he was ready to move again.

So, she enjoys playing a game where she pulls

him off the sofa. He thinks it is quite fun.

Happy Birthday Grammie

Grammie's Birthday is two days before Big J's.  

She was down for the weekend and we were able to celebrate with her.

Happy Birthday Big J

Today is Big J's birthday - he is NINE!  The time is going too quickly and it is hard to even grasp that it has been nine years since we brought this little baby boy home.

From one year old -

To nine.

He loves Minecraft, so I did my best to make him a Minecraft birthday cake.

For those who know the game, we had land (cake), sand (rice krispie treats) and water 

(blue Jello).  I do not know the game, but thankfully I have Internet for ideas.

We love this guy so much.  

We love his creative mind, the funny jokes he tells,

his love for Michigan (side note, we 

didn't even all plan to have our Michigan colors on below), 

his love for his siblings (it is a joy to watch him play with all 

his siblings, especially his little brothers - they just 

adore him), and all that makes him Big J!

It has been a wonderful nine years and

we look forward to see how the Lord will

use him over the next year and into the future.

Birthday Celebrations

Big J enjoyed a fun day with his cousin and his grandma

to celebrate both their birthdays.

Basketball

Busy Bee enjoyed watching her big brother play basketball this winter.  

She wanted to try out the sport herself and has been practicing her dribbling.

Overnight at Grandma's

Purple Girl enjoyed an overnight stay at Grandma's with her cousin.

Before they went to Grandma's they went out to dinner.

Worm

After it rained, the kids were having fun finding worms.  Big J was more than happy to share a worm with Baby J.  He loved holding it before he might have tossed it to the ground.  For you animal lovers, no worries, it survived the fall and was placed back in the grass.

New Discovery

Baby J discovered how he could climb in this chair,

 stand up and rock it back and forth.  Such fun for a 1 year old.

Big Chair

A local furniture store had this big chair to sit in. 

 The kids enjoyed climbing in and of course mom needed a picture.

Bedtime

When daddy is home, he puts Little J to bed. 

 This is a special time for Little J.  

He adores his daddy.

Sweet Baby Boy

I had a few minutes alone with my baby boy,

so I pulled out the camera and took some snap shots.

I was trying to get a picture of his adorable

curls before daddy cuts them off.

I know once they are cut,

they will most likely not come back.

Two little front teeth.

He now backs up to sit down.  

It is cuter in action than in picture, but

I love when he grabs a book, then turns around

and backs into my lap.  

Sweet baby boy...It is nice sometimes to 

have a moment just one on one with him.

I enjoyed just watching him and taking in 

all the fun one year old noises and moments.

Love this boy so much!
